The new 2010 season preparations have ramped up in the last couple of weeks.

With the improvement in weather conditions the team took the opportunity last Sunday to do some well needed track work at Redbraes with the top layer of winter protective shale removed followed by extensive tyre packing.

The track work was followed by another spinning session at LifeCycle where fitness levels have vastly improved from several weeks ago.

The next few weeks should hopefully see a continuation of the good weather which will allow further much needed track work including more track surface work along with touching up the painting and surrounds.   This all kicks off this Sunday (14th March) where some light track preparation will be undertaken followed by the first track training session for 2010.  It’s then back to LifeCycle in the afternoon for another session on the spin bikes.

This all starts promptly at 11:30am, 14th March.

In other news there is a whole load of activity online –

The Falcons website is undergoing some essential maintenance just now and should be up and running again soon.  Be sure to log in to get all the latest information at www.edinburghfalcons.co.uk

Also remember that British Cycling and Scottish Cycling will once again this season be carrying news and articles about the Falcons and Cycle Speedway in general so it’s always worth checking them out.

Closer to home City Cycling Edinburgh who have been a great supporter of the Cycle Speedway, carry articles and discussions about cycling in general in and around Edinburgh and have some interesting photographs with the Falcons making an appearance now and again.

Former Scotia rider (at least for a very brief time) Anth also has an online cycling magazine Citycycling where the authors sometimes of the wall thoughts on cycling make for some interesting reading.

These are just some of the Falcons online friends so please support those who support the Falcons.
