Russian sensation Emil Sayfutdinov will ride in The Bob Kilby Memorial meeting which takes place at Blunsdon on Thursday 18 March, 7.30pm.
The Grand Prix rider joins an exciting looking sixteen man field which includes current World Champion Jason Crump, Danish star Nicki Pedersen, Robins’ captain Leigh Adams, British international Lee Richardson and Swedish hot-shot Freddie Lindgren.
Two-times World U21 Champion Sayfutdinov is one of speedway’s hottest talents. The Russian youngster excelled in his inaugural Grand Prix campaign in 2009 and concluded the season in third spot.
Thus far, his British appearances have been limited, so the inclusion of Sayfutdinov in The Bob Kilby memorial meeting is sure to excite Robins’ supporters.
Elsewhere, in a change to the previously announced line-up, Chris Harris and Greg Walasek will ride in the meeting. Harris and Walasek, both internationally experienced riders, replace Davey Watt and Ben Barker.
Swindon co-owner Gary Patchett said:
“Naturally we’re excited about Emil’s confirmation in The Bob Kilby Memorial and I’m sure Swindon fans will be delighted to hear news of his involvement.
The complete line-up for the event is a very impressive and the meeting will be a fantastic way to launch the 2010 campaign at Blunsdon”
The meeting will be contested over a 23 heat format and the full sixteen rider field is as follows:
Emil Sayfutdinov, Jason Crump, Leigh Adams, Nicki Pedersen, Lee Richardson, Freddie Lindgren, Simon Stead, Seb Ulamek, Hans Andersen, Steve Johnston, Mads Korneliussen, Morten Risager, Thomas Jonasson, Grzegorz Zengota, Chris Harris, Greg Walasek.
