IPSWICH WITCHES
IPSWICH have confirmed Great Britain international Danny King as their skipper for the new season.
King, who rode in last year’s World Cup, returned to the Witches in 2009 after a spell with Peterborough.
He said: “It’s a great honour to be asked to skipper the Witches.
“I really enjoyed being captain last season when I took over following the injury to Leigh Lanham and it’s a role I thrive in.
“I know I’m a bit on the young side to be skipper but I get on well with all the other lads and I enjoy doing whatever I can to help them out on race days.”
NEWCASTLE DIAMONDS
JASON King is backing Newcastle for a serious Premier League title challenge.
King believes reigning champions King’s Lynn will once again take some stopping – but the Diamonds can be a major threat.
He said: “We all know each other pretty well already which is a good start and I certainly feel we can push the likes of King’s Lynn. It could be a good year for us at Newcastle, I certainly hope so.”
