WOLVERHAMPTON WOLVES
ELITE League Speedway champions Wolverhampton will smile their way through the season - that's the view of Swedish youngster Ludvig Lindgren.
'Ludo' is the younger brother of Parrys International Wolves hero Freddie and is preparing for his second spell with the club.
He said: "We're going to have a lot of fun this year, it's a nice feeling for me to be back with Wolverhampton.
"I like all the guys and think we're going to have a lot of laughs along the way."
BEN FUND
ORGANISERS of the Ben Fund Bonanza event have been forced to increase the line-up from 16 to 20 riders.
The Rye House event, which raises money for the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund, has attracted a world class field on Sunday, March 14.
Latest names to be released are
Krzysztof Kasprzak (Lakeside), Tomas Topinka (King’s Lynn), Craig Watson (Newport), Ben Barker (Coventry), Steve Johnston (Birmingham) and Viktor Bergstrom (Scunthorpe).
Ben Fund Treasurer Paul Ackroyd said “There are still other riders asking to be included but we can’t do any more than that!
“It gives supporters from one or two other tracks the chance to come and see their own riders in action. The riders’ response has been superb, as it was last year.”
SCUNTHORPE SAINTS
SCUNTHORPE have completed their National League starting line-up with the addition of Gareth Isherwood.
And the club have also confirmed Saints sponsors Jotun Paints will continue their backing for the team in a big pre-season boost.
Promoter Rob Godfrey said on the signing of Isherwood: “I remember him top-scoring here for Buxton in 2008 with about 16-points.
“He looked ready for the Premier League that night and whilst he didn’t have a great 2009 I’m sure he can get back to at least his 2008 level with the Saints”.
