Ben Fund secretary/treasurer Paul Ackroyd has been put under such pressure by riders wanting to race in the Ben Fund Bonanza that he has given in, and increased the field to 20 riders.

Coming in on top of the previously announced 14 names are Krzysztof Kasprzak (Lakeside), Tomas Topinka (King’s Lynn), Craig Watson (Newport), Ben Barker (Coventry), Steve Johnston (Birmingham) and Viktor Bergstrom (Scunthorpe).

The main event will still be 20 heats under a new format, with a semi-final and final to decide the meeting winner, and there will be a couple of outings from the Blast from the Past troupe.

Ackroyd said “There are still other riders asking to be included but we can’t do any more than that!

“It gives supporters from one or two other tracks the chance to come and see their own riders in action. The riders’ response has been superb, as it was last year.”

There will be a prize raffle at the meeting with the top prize having been donated by the Paradise Wildlife Park, a family day out at the venue. Also up for grabs are two tickets for a Super 7 event of the winner’s choice and a Wulf Jacket donated by Barry Briggs.

Admission prices for the big event will be the same as for Rockets’ meetings during the season: Adults £15, OAPs £13 and Children £5.

BEN FUND BONANZA, RYE HOUSE STADIUM, SUNDAY 14th MARCH, 2.30PM. 16 RIDERS, 20 HEATS.
