Scunthorpe Speedway have received a major boost ahead of the new season with Jotun Paints, the global company whose UK headquarters are just a couple of miles away from the Eddie Wright Raceway, having agreed to continue as the main sponsors of Scunthorpe’s National League side.
Commenting on the deal Promoter Rob Godfrey said “This is a great fillip as we head into the new season. Jotun’s contribution is a big help with running the Saints team and we are very grateful”.
“There is great optimism at the club for the coming season and the support from companies like Jotun Paints, Henderson Insurance, Eddie Wrights and Lincs FM is vital as we strive to build for the future. We had a field just over five years ago but with the support of our fans and the sponsors we can gradually build a stadium that the town can be truly proud of. Along with the sponsorship money Jotun help us out with paint for the site and that is also worth its weight on gold. You see some other stadiums and they really need a lick of paint. We have had some fantastic paint and we are also lucky to have some outstanding volunteers in Dave and Ian Cook who spend a lot of time using the paint that has been provided”.
In addition to the Jotun deal, which will see the Saints once again line up as the Jotun Paints Scunthorpe Saints, the club have agreed with the regions’ leading radio station, Lincs FM, for them to continue as an official media partner. The partnership, which is now entering its fifth season, will once again see regular announcements on the station which reaches 300,000 listeners a week across the region whilst speedway will continue to be a regular feature on their sports bulletins.
