Motorcycling Australia confirmed today that Adelaide's Gillman Speedway
will play host to the 2011 Australian Sidecar Championship.
"It's good news with nearly 12 months to plan" said Speedway Manager Dave Parker, "this is one of the big meetings that we have applied for, for next season and hopefully it is the start of a big season next year".
"Again we hope to put on the Glenn and Nathan O'Brien Cup for Junior Sidecars as well".
"There are a few more major events i hope that comes to SA and once their announced, patrons will be in for a big season".
Also good news is that the Wingfield Sidewinders track 1km down the road will have the Under 16 Championships.
"One thing i must stress early" said Parker, " do not book tickets to come at Easter at the moment for the Sidecar Championship, with a number of hi profile meetings around, i want to make sure we get the date right and not mess people around, so hold back and hang on, this could be one hell of a season".
