Ten times Australian Speedway Motorcycle Champion Leigh Adams will conduct a training school at Gillman Speedway on the Saturday of the Australian Solo Speedway Championship (2 January), for the riders competing in the Gillman Junior (Under 16) 125cc Solo Championship that night. The training school will be between 12 and 2 pm.
"It's good to be able to do my bit for Speedway, even though I will not be competing this summer" said Adams. "Junior Speedway is where it all starts and if I can help these young lads get to be good, safe, professional riders, then it's all worth while. I was fortunate enough to have people like John Boulger, Ivan Mauger and others around when I was starting and they helped me, so hopefully I can pass on what I have learnt to our Juniors now".
Riders who have not entered for the Junior Championship should do so straight away, by phoning Bob White on 0424 361 877, as the programmes will be finished this week to fit in with the printer's Christmas shut-down.
In further junior news, Gillman Speedway now has a near new junior speedway bike for our Come and Try days, and no prize for guessing where it came from — Leigh Adams! Thanks Leigh.
