Belle Vue have signed rising Scottish star, William Lawson, to fill one of the two reserve berths in their 2010 line-up.
The 22-year-old, from Perth, finished the 2009 season at Glasgow where he had a 6.55 average which equates to a 3.20 figure in the top division.
His signing leaves the Aces with just one position to fill and a further announcement is expected shortly.
Aces' chief David Gordon said: “William is an Edinburgh asset and they would have liked him in their side next season. But he wanted to commit himself full-time to the Elite League. We are grateful to Edinburgh for their co-operation over the move.
“He will fill one of the most important positions in the team because we have a built a strong top end and need good points from the lower order riders to make it work for us.
“William knows what will be expected of him and he's more than ready to take on the challenge. He's been riding in the Premier League since he joined Newcastle in 2003 and feels the time is right to step up.
“We need riders at reserve who will improve their averages and we see William as a very important signing who will be able to achieve that.
“We are sure we can help him achieve his ambitions, especially with top signings like Hans Andersen and Peter Karlsson to help him.”
