Ipswich Witches are delighted to announce that Danny King and Scott Nicholls are the first riders to be signed up to ride for the club in 2010.

Manager Chris Louis says: ‘This is the best possible start for our team-sheet for next season. Danny was our Rider of the Year in 2009 and in Scott Nicholls we have one of the most exciting performers in world speedway’.

Team Manager Pete Simmons is equally enthusiastic:’This is fantastic news for the club and our fans.Scottie will be an out and out number one for us, capable of double figure scores home and away. He did a brilliant job for us when he came in late last year and with the pressure of the Grand Prix series removed I think 2010 is going to be a great year for him. Danny made great strides forward last year and I am sure that his career will really take off now that he is settled at Foxhall’.

Nicholls himself is impatient for the new season to get underway:’ After a terrible season last year I felt really at home back at Foxhall and enjoyed racing there again. So much so in fact, Ipswich was top of the list for me as far as 2010 was concerned. After spending so much time on the road the last couple of years I’m really looking forward to concentrating on and enjoying riding for the Witches. I can’t wait to get going.’

Last year’s Witches Skipper King says: ‘ I’m absolutely delighted to be coming back to Ipswich. Last season was so enjoyable – the atmosphere in the pits was terrific and it was a real privilege to be team captain. I never had a thought in my mind about going to any other club in 2010.’
