COVENTRY skipper Chris Harris has agreed terms to stay with the club for the 2010 Elite League season.
And the Buildbase Bees can also confirm that exciting teenager Josh Auty will take a doubling-up position in the side whilst also racing for Sheffield in the Premier League.
Harris, the reigning British Champion, will be going into his seventh season at Brandon having raised his average to a best-yet 8.54 in 2009. This is reduced to 8.33 given the 2.5% discount for British riders.
Bees promoter Colin Pratt said: "Chris improved his average last year and it was also good to see that his gating was much more consistent in the final weeks of the season.
"It's always easier to climb the ladder as he did a few years ago, resulting in his British Grand Prix win, than it is to stay there - it's like when you score your first maximum, everyone expects the same again every week.
"But Chris has always worked hard for our club during the time he's been us and I'm confident that we will see even more from him next year."
Auty, 19, has been a Coventry asset for just over two years and put in several action-packed displays as part of the squad last season.
He will continue his development in the Premier League with Sheffield but will be available to race for the Bees except on the occasions when there is a fixture clash with the Tigers.
Pratt added: "I think the move from Redcar to Sheffield did Josh good, and it obviously helped him to be working alongside Eric Boocock.
"He seemed to improve week by week, as we saw from the meetings he did for us, so we're pleased to confirm that he's back with us to double-up next season."
