Great News for road race fans and Shorttrack fans is that three of the
fastest men around the I.O.M TT track will be in action over the
Christmas period at the Braintree Bonanza Indoor Shorttrack Meeting on
27th December.
Steve Plater, 2009 Senior TT Winner & British Supersport Champion is no
stranger to Shorttrack, he has competed at the Christmas Meeting for the last 3 years and last year got on the rostrum with 3rd place in the
Grand Final.
Steve has been competing for HM Plant Honda in 2009 and looks set to be riding the CRF450 Honda that was kindly lent by Neil Tuxworth Manger of HM Plant Honda Racing Team for Chris Carr to race at Rye House and there is no doubt that Steve will be trying to get on the rostrum again.
John McGuiness is a living legend - 15 Times TT winner & fastest man
around the TT track and the first to break the 130 mph barrier. John is
pretty used to going sideways as he often goes out training on a
speedway bike that he bought from Jason Crump. He raced at the Christmas meeting couple of years ago and reached the semi final stage!
Gary Johnson is one of the rising stars of road racing, not only for his
riding style but also for his great personality and he finished 3rd in
2009 Senior TT. Gary is an all round rider off road and on the roads but
this is his first time riding Shorttrack, with backing from CCM, Dynomax
and the Flat Track Experience, it will be interesting to see how Gary
will adapt to the sideways action.
The 3 TT stars will be up against 24 of the best flattrack riders in
Europe including 3 times UK champion Marco Belli from Italy,2009
European & Uk Champion Peter Boast and also former European Champion Jacopo Monti anther fast Itailain and with British under 21 Speedway Champion Lewis Bridger and a former British Grass Track Champion Paul Cooper all thrown in the mix!

This is the first ever indoor Flattrack Meeting ever held in Europe. It
willl be staged at the luxurious Towerlands Centre in Briantree,
Essex,CM7 5BJ on the afternoon of Sunday December 27th racing from 1pm.
The 1,000 seater arena is one of the country's largest and most
established showjumping venues with large car parks, licensed bar and
cafe amongst the fan-friendly facilities on site.
Adult Tickets are priced at £10 advance & £12 on the day, £6 Concs, £5
