Speedway Grand Prix: Swedish speedway fans to save money.

Swedish speedway fans can save money this year when they book their tickets for the 2010 FIM Swedish Speedway Grand Prix!

The event will take place on 08 May 2010 at Ullevi Stadium, Sweden, and supporters buying their tickets before the end of the year will save up to 50SEK on selected tickets if they book before 31 October 2009.

As part of the individual speedway world championship FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series (SGP), the event at Sweden's national stadium is one of the largest events on the Swedish speedway calendar as Paul Bellamy, managing director, BSI Speedway, explains:

"The Grand Prix at Ullevi is the biggest speedway event in Sweden. The popularity of the sport and the number of Swedish riders coming through to compete at the highest level continues to grow and the Swedish fans will have plenty to shout about when the world championship rolls into Gothenburg on the 08 May 2010."

Of the five Grand Prix events held at Ullevi since 2002, there has been a Swede in the final in all but one of those meetings, with a strong contingent of Swedish riders coming through the ranks as Bellamy explains:

"Andreas Jonsson has shown this year he has the ability to be the world's best with his win at this year's Nordic GP. His compatriot in the series, Freddie Lindgren, has graced the podium twice so far this season and has also proved he can mix it with the elite in his first GP season as a permanent rider. Together with Antonio Lindbäck's return to the sport and his third place at Ullevi as well as the impressive performance of the Swedish team at the World Cup, we know that the thousands of patriotic fans who will be at Ullevi next May will be backing their riders 100 percent."

Ullevi's rich world championship speedway heritage is something the stadium is immensely proud of as Anders Albertsson, stadium manager, explains:

"World class sporting events are synonymous with Ullevi and the city of Gothenburg and we are extremely proud of our association with world championship speedway. The excitement and passion that is evoked as the 16 riders battle over the 23 heats for world championship glory is something that needs to be experienced to be believed and we look forward to welcoming speedway fans from around the world to Sweden's national stadium."
