Astley & Tyldesley travelled over the Pennines to take on Heckmondwike in a Northern League encounter at Firth Park on Sunday.
The home side could track only four riders and were never in with a chance of repeating last season's win over A & T. Piotr Jamroszczyk, Remi Burchardt and Dariusz Pilas all raced unbeaten for A & T, with good support from the rest of the team. For Heckmondwike, Darren Kent and Andy Bradshaw featured in some good races throughout the match, to keep the visitors on their toes.
