Ade Collins dominated round 4 of the Pozzani Silkolene Shorttrack UK
Championship which took place at Hi Edge Raceway, Buxton. Ade was
unbeaten in all his races and he also took top honours in the Dash for
Cash race.
With over night rain the track conditions were a little tricky to start
with for the heat races but by time it came to the Semi's the track had
turned into a hard dusty track. This didn't change Aidan's winning ways
as he took the first semi by half the straight away from second placed
Richard 'magic' Mason, who had the battle holding off Justin Hargate for
3rd. The second Semi was won by Pete Boast after restart following a
first bend crash with other 3 riders, second spot went to' Cowboy' Glyn
Pocklington and Geoff Baldock came though the field to take 3rd spot.
As the riders took their places for the 12 lap Grand Final, it was the
on form Collins who got the hole shot from Magic Mason, Boast, Baldock,
Pocklington and Hargate. On lap 3 Boastie made a move past Mason and by lap 6 Ade Collins was pulling away from the field. Mason was trying to
get past Boast again and Geoff Baldock had Helmets4u Team riders
Pocklington and Hargate snapping at his heels. On lap 9 Pocklington got
past Baldock and on lap 10 Geoff was relegated to 6th as Hargate passed
going into the last lap.
Collins had a safe lead but Boastie was still having to ride hard to
keeping Magic Mason from passing him. As the chequred flag came out for Aiden for his second Grand Final win this season, Boast held on to
second from Mason, 4th Glyn Pocklington, 5th Justin Hargate and Tim
Greig just slipping by Geoff Baldock on the last lap to take 6th.
