Race wins for Chris Neath and guest Carl Wilkinson proved the only real visiting highlights as the treble-chasing Stars ensured that “Fortress Norfolk Arena” remained very much just that on Wednesday night.
While the Rockets were unable to make either success count for an on-track heat advantage - Neath technically delivered a 6-3 in his Heat 8 win as a Tactical Rider – the home side’s race thirteen wins definitely proved unlucky for Rye by containing no less than nine 5-1s and three 4-2s.
On a team front, all of the Stars collected race wins, with Tomas Topinka completing a five ride paid maximum and Emiliano Sanchez, Chris Schramm and Kozza Smith each dropping points in just a single heat. Darcy Ward was also unbeaten in his first three outings before being forced to withdraw from his final programmed ride.
The Rockets, on the other hand, struggled for any real consistency. Falls for Tommy Allen (while holding second place in Heat 6), Luke Bowen and Carl Wilkinson didn’t help, either. The Rockets’ guest hit the deck twice while chasing for points, but was finally rewarded for his battling efforts with a win in Heat 12.

Neath Now Third in Rockets Points History
There was at least one piece of good news to come out of the Silver Ski Rockets’ match at King’s Lynn. Chris Neath’s 8 points at the Norfolk Arena moved him into third place in the Rockets’ all-time points scorers list. His Rye career total has reached 2643 points, ahead of the now-fourth placed Jens Rasmussen who achieved 2637. The Rockets’ captain still has some way to go, however, to chase down either the second placed Kelvin Mullarkey (4566 ˝) or all-time leader Bob Garrad (5037 ˝).
