Disappointing weekend for the Edinburgh Falcons as the double header of away fixtures today (28th June) proved a step too far for the slightly under strength travellers.
For Team Manager Steve Gilroy a heavy defeat was expected at Stoke and a heavy defeat it turned out as the Falcons relaxed knowing the 2nd fixture of the day at Stockport was the target for league points. Final Score: Stoke 118, Edinburgh 61. Top scorers for the Falcons were Neil McPherson & Craig Newsome who both posted a 10 point score.
Up the motorway to Stockport and has been said before the shortened 6 man 15 heat format can sometimes suit the Team its designed to help and today that proved to be the case as Stockport ran out winners by 84 points to 59. Mikey Hewitson was the stand out performer for the Falcons dropping only one point to an opponent over 5 races to finish on 18 points and a bonus.
